Food Allergy Awareness Week
May 14 through May 20 Is Food Allergy Awareness Week. Food allergy affects over 15 million people in the United States. 6 million are children. Food allergy awareness week represents an opportunity and commitment to educate people and institutions about the health problems of food allergy. Although, the frequency of food allergy appears to be increasing, we must wait to see how the changes in the infant diet going forward will impact this incidence.
Simply doing a search for food allergy awareness leads to many trusted reputable sites for information about food allergy. Foodallergy.org are is a huge source as a website for solid, sound information for patients, their family, and institutions about food allergy.
Peanut allergy is the most feared of the food allergies. It is unusual in that most allergic patients do not outgrow their food allergy. With many other foods, the patient will outgrow their allergy with time. Peanut allergy is responsible for almost half the serious food allergy reactions.
We are pleased and excited at Western Sky Medical Research to be involved in a series of studies of a successful therapy for peanut allergy. Please contact Catherine at 915-544-2557.
